This year Lithuanian municipalities will receive 163,6 million litas (47,42 million €) for local access roads
Municipalities will be able to use autonomously 163,6 million litas (47,42 mln €) for local access roads and streets repair. The Goverment has confirmed the estimate of Road Maintenance and Development program for 2012. The total state budget, for Lithuanian roads network and implementation of safe road, consists of 915,9 million litas (265,48 million €). There will be invested 1,2 billion litas (0,35 billion €) in Lithuanian state and local roads which 270 million litas (78,26 million €) consist from EU funding.
The State of Lithuania devoted 65.0 million litas (18,84 million €) for State roads repair and building in 2012. The funding, for gravel roads asphalting, is increased until 83,4 million litas (24,18 million €). More than double funding is increased for pedestrian and bicycle paths. Those investments will reach 8,9 million litas (2,58 million €). For various traffic safety programs and the educational activities are planned to devote almost 31.5 million litas (9,13 million €).
