The President receives Kosovar Ambassador
President Dalia Grybauskaitė accepted letters of credence from the Ambassador of Kosovo, Lulzim Peci.
During the meeting, the President and the new Ambassador to Lithuania discussed the bilateral relations and the perspectives of Kosovo’s integration into the European Union.
According to the President, Lithuania supports the trends of Kosovo’s euro-integration and is ready to continue sharing its experience in this area. However, she underlined, success depends primarily on the efforts a country itself makes in implementing the essential reforms.
The Ambassador said that in was in the interests of Kosovo to make use of the integration experience Lithuania has already gained, and that Kosovo was expecting Lithuania’s support on its path towards closer relations with the EU.
Lulzim Peci (46), holding a Master’s degree in international relations, is a co-founder of the Kosovar Institute for Policy Research and Development and the founder of the Kosovar Civil Society Foundation. The diplomat resides in Stockholm.
Lithuania in cooperation with Germany is implementing a EUR 1.7 million-worth Twinning Project of veterinary and food safety in Kosovo.
