Seven more foreign visits on the President’s agenda in the first half of this year

Seven more visits abroad have been placed on President Dalia Grybauskaitė’s agenda for the first half of this year.

On April 29, the President plans to pay a working visit to Qatar to discuss the prospects for ensuring cheaper gas supply. During the visit, the President will be accompanied by Minister of Energy Arvydas Sekmokas and Managing Director of “Klaipėdos nafta” Rokas Masiulis.
On May 11-12, the President will attend the traditional annual meeting of Presidents of Central European Countries in Ukraine, where the leaders from more than 20 countries are invited to discuss regional cooperation matters.

On May 20-21, the President will go to the NATO Summit in Chicago to discuss the issues important for Lithuania’s security and defence.

On June 4-6, the President will attend the World Economic Forum in Istanbul, Turkey, to discuss, together with other world leaders and economists, the financial future of Europe, the problems in the Middle East, and the geopolitical situation.

In the middle of June – state visit to Latvia.

At the end of June, the President will participate in the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development and the high-level meeting of Women World Leaders in Brazil.

On June 28-29, the President will attend the European Council Meeting in Brussels to discuss the EU financial framework for the period 2014-2020.
